Vannevar Bush
Dr. Vannevar Bush (Massachusetts, 1890-1974) lead six thousand American scientists in an effort to apply science for war purposes during World War II. He devised tools to leverage the increasing amount of knowledge produced by science.

In 1945 he published this article where he analyses the state of scientific applicability and proposes the memex, a new device for personal and public information gathering, reviewing and publishing.
